A May Gathering to Remember
Director, Dr. Trisha Wheelock

On May 10 and 11, both the 2019 and 2020 cohorts travelled to Des Moines to attend the Moses Project May celebration. After 10 months of online learning and connection, it was the first time some of the pastors met in person.
The celebration ceremony at Luther Memorial Church gave pastors the opportunity to worship with Dr. Mike Elsbernd, receive communion, hear inspiring preaching from Rev. Nicole Woodley, and receive a powerful message from Grand View President Kent Henning (click on the underlined text to read Pres. Henning's remarks). A highlight for the pastors was the certificate ceremony where they were recognized for their ministry. Moses Project mentors provided a quote for each of the pastors in their mini-cohort highlighting the pastors' gifts, individual personalities, and growth throughout the program. It was a special moment to celebrate and recognize each of our pastors.

During a teaching session with Tod Bolsinger, he encouraged the pastors to engage in rhythms of work and rest to build resilience. Pastors re-connected with their mentors and mini-cohorts, reflected on what it means to thrive in ministry, and enjoyed the Embassy Suites in downtown Des Moines.
