Sustain and Collaborate: Meeting with Synod Leaders

Director, Dr. Trisha Wheelock

According to Barna Research Group, 38% of full time pastors considering quitting ministry in 2021. That’s a significant number, and our Moses Project pastors feel the stress of a difficult two years in ministry. Ongoing stress, financial difficulties, and divisiveness persist in rural ministry. Yet, our pastors serve with compassion, creativity, and a strong sense of call. The central aim of our work is to help rural pastors thrive by building a network of mentors, colleagues, and friends, to be equipped with resources, and rich in collegial support. This work is more important than ever. We give thanks for our pastors who continue to serve their churches with grace and love.

We also give thanks for the Synod Leadership under which these pastors serve. With collaborative support and partnership, we can work together to help pastors thrive.

On Tuesday, January 18, Moses Project staff meet via Zoom with sixteen regional synod leaders to discuss the program, opportunities for collaboration, and casting a vision for the future. Click the link below to watch a recording of this meeting.  Synod leaders also got a taste of Moses generosity with a hospitality box filled with gifts and goodies including a mystery gift and devotion. Thank you for partnering with us as we explore new ways to sustainably serve our pastors.
